On this day, sadfam records presents the release of ‘revery,’ a gorgeous collection of chamber folk tunes by Canadian vocalist/composer Theresa Thor (kilter). The album blends Chopin-inspired piano with woodwinds, Jupiter-8 synths, and field recordings from Theresa’s family farm, creating a dreamy soundscape influenced by literary figures like T.S. Eliot and Emily Dickinson. Thor writes that “an obsession with an Emily Dickinson poem provides the album’s titular inspiration along with a pithy framework for how to live with others (and maybe even yourself):”
“To make a prairie it takes a clover and one bee,
One clover, and a bee.
And revery.
The revery alone will do,
If bees are few.”
